Motivation

We plan to drill an ice core on Müller Ice Cap in the Canadian Arctic. This core is part of Dorthe Dahl-Jensen’s Canada Excellence Research Chair at the University of Manitoba, and will provide a proxy for climate and sea ice in the Canadian Arctic over several millenia. Picking an ice-core site is tricky business, and I am involved in the surveying to ensure that the drillers get the best record possible for the area.
